About
Founded in 2021 by Vincent Sherrod and his wife, Kristen Pierce-Sherrod, CCEC emerged from their years of unofficially running programs due to their love of the community. Kristen and Vincent, CEO of the Harold's Chicken empire and respected African American business entrepreneurs, recognized the empowering impact of equine experiences on low-income youths. They established the program as a safe space committed to transforming lives from ages 6 to adults in Chicago. The Sherrods strongly believe in the strength of cross-training and working together for the betterment of their horses and our youth.

Our center also specializes in training and competing in Dressage, Show Jumping, Barrels, Steer Wrestling, Poles, Team Roping, and many other Rodeo events. It was once only a dream of founder-manager Vincent Sherrod to have his own boarding facility and indoor arena where our youth and horse lovers could meet, ride, and mingle with others who share the same passion. Vincent’s dream became reality not long ago and has blossomed ever since.

Chicago Children Equestrian Center will proudly cater to Western disciplines and offer a wide variety of stabling options to keep horses and owners happy. Whether you're looking to enjoy a little time in the saddle, pick up some new skills, try a new sport such as gymkhana, or compete at a more advanced level, there will be a little something for everyone at the Chicago Children Equestrian Center.

Our future plans also include expanding into other states.
